For the first time ever, the PwC IMAGE Business Woman of the Year Awards has a Family Businesswoman category. We are delighted that our leading lady, Valerie Peart has been shortlisted for the award! Speaking about the nomination, she said;
What an honour to be shortlisted in this category. To be at the helm of a family business carries with it such a huge responsibility, not only to ensure safe passage for the future of the business, but also to do justice to the memory of the generations who have gone before. So to be nominated and actually shortlisted makes me feel grateful for the privilege to have had the opportunity to steer our family ship along its course for the last 21 years.”
The winner will be announced at a glitzy award ceremony on the 14th April. On what it would mean to win it, Valerie said;
The other nominees in this category, Family Businesswoman of the Year, are women who have each achieved great success with all of the business enterprises with which they are involved. Simply to find myself shortlisted alongside such greats is a prize in itself and something which I never, in my 43 years as a Professional, would have expected.”
