LIMERICK – SITTING IN ENNIS PERSONAL INJURY CALLOVER ON 14TH MAY 2024

SITTINGS – MONDAY 17TH JUNE TO FRIDAY 28TH JUNE 2024

There will be a Callover of all matters set down for the Limerick Personal Injury List – Sitting in Ennis on Tuesday the 14th May 2024 to fix dates for the sittings in Ennis Courthouse commencing Monday the 17th June 2024.

The Callover List, when published, can be found in the Legal Diary section of the High Court website.

 

 

 

When forwarding your Instructions please ensure to provide the following information;

  1. Date of accrual of cause of action in the proceedings;
    2. Expected dates of compliance by all parties with O.39 (46) RSC (inserted by SI 391/1998);
    3. The expected duration of trial;
    4. Whether the hearing will be confined to an assessment of damages only;
    5. Whether VMR facilities for an expert may be required at trial. (The default position unless otherwise sought at the call over is that all evidence at trial will be heard physically in Court)
    6. Details of when and where any outstanding motion in the proceedings is listed so that it may be resolved before or during the sessions. It is intended to hear and determine any pre-sessions motions or further applications on Tuesday 30th May 2024.

If you require us to attend on Counsel or make an application on your behalf you should forward your instructions to reach us no later than 1.00pm on Monday the 13th May 2024. No instructions will be taken on the day of the callover.

Limerick Personal Injuries List (Monday 12th February 2024 to Friday 23rd February 2024)

There will be a Positive callover of all cases set down for the Limerick Personal Injuries List on Friday the 12th January 2024 on a Hybrid basis at 10.30 a.m before Ms Justice Stewart to fix dates for the Sittings commencing the 12th February 2024. As this is a Positive callover, where there is no Appearance by either party the Notice of Trial will be Struck Out. The Registrar will sit at 9.30 to deal with any matters that can be dealt with on Consent including calling matters on for hearing on consent.

Ms Justice Stack requires any party attending to be fully briefed in the case and in a position to advise the Court of the required information. When sending instructions please provide the following information;

  • Date of accrual of cause of action
  • Date of compliance by all parties with SI 391/1998
  • Duration of Trail
  • If the matter is assessment only
  • If VMR facilities will be required at the trial
  • If the other side were put on notice of the application, please provide the date notice was given
  • If an application to adjourn on consent is to be made please provide a detailed reason

If you require us to attend on Counsel or make an application on your behalf you should forward your instructions to reach us no later than 1.00pm on Thursday the 11th January 2024. No instructions will be taken on the morning of the callover.

In keeping with previous Callovers of the Limerick List and as noted within the Callover; adjournments, regardless of if they are on Consent, may have the Notice of Trial Stuck Out or be entered into the “SL List”.
