Cork Personal Injuries List, (Sittings Monday 14th July 2025 to Friday 25th July 2025)

There will be a Positive Callover of cases set down for the Cork Personal Injuries List on Friday the 27th of June 2025 on a Hybrid basis before Mr Justice O’ Connor to fix dates for the Sittings commencing the 14th July 2025. As noted in the Callover, where matters up to and including number 142 in the List are not ready to proceed or there is no Appearance by either side the case may be adjourned generally with liberty to re-enter.

Please note in order to make any application we will require ALL of the below information;

  1. Date of accrual of cause of action in the proceedings;
  2.  Expected dates of compliance by all parties with O.39 (46) RSC (inserted by SI 391/1998);
  3. The expected duration of trial;
  4. Whether the hearing will be confined to an assessment of damages only;
  5. Whether VMR facilities for an expert may be required at trial. (The default position unless otherwise sought at the call over is that all evidence at trial will be heard physically in Court)
  6. Details of when and where any outstanding motion in the proceedings is listed so that it may be resolved before or during the sessions.

If you require us to attend on Counsel or make an application on your behalf you should forward your instructions to reach us no later than 1.00pm on Thursday 26th June 2025. No instructions will be taken on the morning of the Callover.

Cork Personal Injuries List, Sittings (Monday 15th January 2024 to Friday 26th January 2024)

A call over of all cases set down for the Cork Personal Injury List will take place on Thursday the 14th December 2023 remotely before Mr Justice Holland at 10am. Please note as per the directions in the Callover where there is no appearance by either side the Notice of Trail may be struct out. The list will be called over until the quota of 120 cases has been reached.

If you require us to attend or make an application on your behalf you should forward your instructions to reach us no later than 1.00pm on Wednesday the 13th December 2023. No instructions will be taken on the morning of the callover.

When forwarding instructions please ensure to include all the following information;

  1. Title and List Number of the action.
  2. The party for whom you act.
  3. When the matter was set down.
  4. If the application is on Consent of the other parties or on notice. (If on notice please advise the date on which they were notified of the application being made).
  5. If an order is being sought please set out what is to happen with the Costs.

Please note as per previous provincial Callovers, the Court will be reluctant to adjourn matters and a convincing reason for an adjournment will be required regardless of if there is consent.
