CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY HOURS

It turns out the Pearts team are not only brilliant in their office roles, but also in the kitchen! As we gathered together for the Bewleys Big Coffee Morning for Together For Hospice and Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services, Harold’s Cross, Blackrock & Wicklow we also took the moment to appreciate Aylish Morrissey and Judith Cleary who reached their 20 year milestone working for Pearts this month. Two rocks, (who hate the limelight) and whom we would be lost without!
The morning was also tinged with sadness as we raised a cup to lost loved ones and in particular to Brian, former team member of Pearts, who, this time last year, was residing in Harold’s Cross Hospice receiving the incredible care during his final few months of life. A place no one wants to ever find themselves in, but when that awful time comes, the difference the Hospice makes to all involved is simply incredible. It is only until you have to experience it that you can truly appreciate the value of it.

James Clarke and Niamh Wade added to the glitz and glamour which engulfed the Convention Centre Dublin on June 14th
for the Irish Law Awards. Unfortunately they didn’t enter the spotlight to claim the trophy for the ‘Service Provider to the Legal Profession’, but it was fantastic to be able to clap and cheer for so many of our well-deserving colleagues and customers who did win.
We would particularly like to congratulate the following worthy winners whom we proudly serve as Town Agents, and hope they all enjoyed the celebrations on the night; HOMS Assist, Geraghty & Company Solicitors LLP, Byrne Carolan Cunningham LLP Solicitors, O’Connor O’Dea
Binchy Solicitors LLP, Alastair Purdy & Co., Sweeney McGann LLP Solicitors, Susan Webster & Company, Mulholland Law, Doyle & Company, Jacob Law, P.O’Connor & Son Solicitors, Coghlan Kelly solicitors, McCarthy & Co, Kieran Mulcahy Solicitors, Ishaq Alam and Louise Howard. Keep reading →
The Court of Appeal have announced that the Court of Appeal Callover, Directions, and Motions Lists held each Friday will be entirely physical from now on.
There will be no provision for parties to attend remotely unless the Court gives permission in advance. To seek permission an application should be made to the Judge in advance and be supported by a medical report setting out the medical reasons why the party cannot attend Court physically.
If you have any further queries concerning this or wish to instruct us to attend Counsel please contact Denise Hartnett (dhartnett@pearts.ie) in our office who will be happy to assist you.
Several changes have been made by Justice Hyland to the Non-Jury, Judicial Review and Asylum, Immigration and Citizenship Lists. These changes include earlier book lodgements, requirements for some books to be brought physically to court, changes to how a practitioner requests late lodgement of books and an update on consent applications.
We strongly recommend that all practitioners who have matters in these lists, thoroughly review the below details to avoid their motions and/or hearings from being struck out.
As always, our team is available to assist with book lodgements, attendance on counsel and/or in the list, and any queries you may have.
