As a result of a shortage of judges in the High Court, the President of the High Court has announced that it is necessary to redeploy judges from their designated duties so as to ensure that trials in the Central Criminal Court, Family Law, Wards of Court and Commercial List cases do not have to be postponed. As a result, it is regretted that all cases in every other High Court list are at risk of having to be adjourned at short notice. Keep reading →
The notice below was published on the Courts website today, Monday the 9th July 2018. Only cases where the written submissions of the appellant have been lodged in accordance with the directions given at the Callover lists last term will be included in the Callover on the 24th July 2018.

Applications with regard to fixing dates for Dundalk High Court commencing Tuesday, June 5th will be taken before Mr Justice Hanna at 10.30am in The Four Courts, Dublin on May 11th, while applications by consent will be taken before the Registrar at 9.30am. Please note that Assessments may be listed in their place. Also, the practice of a Positive Callover has been discontinued, therefore all cases are presumed to be going on unless an application is made.
At 10.30am on May 16th at The Four Courts, Dublin, Ms Justice O’Hanlon will take applications regarding the Waterford and Kilkenny Personal Injuries List, which commences June 18th for two weeks at Waterford Courthouse. Consent applications can be made before the Registrar at 9.30am. Cases are assumed to be going on unless there is an application made to have the case adjourned or taken out of the list. Assessments take their place in the List, with Assessment Days scheduled to take place from Wednesday 27th June.
Tadgh Kelly Solicitor, who heads-up our Private Client Services in the Rathmines office, has been awarded a first-class honours Masters Degree in Laws from the Law Society of Ireland School of Law.
His main area of research as part of his Masters programme was in the area of head injury arising out of car on bicycle collisions, paying particular attention to the courts view of the efficacy of the bicycle crash helmet in injury prevention and the degree of reduction in awards in compensation for the non-wearing of a bicycle crash helmet.
